Robert Barbour House

The house was constructed in 1884 as his home by local architect and builder Robert Fulton Barbour (b. c1823).   He called in Swinton House and lived there until his death in 1898.   It was the third house on Thomas Street he built and lived in.   Still standing is his second house at 216 Thomas.

Barbour built Tracy House,   C S Jones House,   Mathieson House,   Joseph Stafford House and the Armouries.   He was on the committee that in 1881 built the Presbyterian church.
 
Designated a heritage property July 12, 1988.
